I have decided to quilt on a daily basis in our new year. What does that mean, exactly?
It means I will spend 4 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week doing something, ANYTHING to do with quilt making.
It could be designing a quilt, practicing a quilt pattern, looking through quilt books for ideas or inspiration, sewing, quilting either my own tops or a customer top. Regardless, I will be very productive this coming year. I have lots of projects in every stage you can imagine. I also got a new camera for Christmas, (thanks honey).
I hope you play along with me!

The new log cabin project
As I Predicted, it only took approximately 4 hrs to pre-cut all the fabrics and run them through the GO cutter Log cabin die. A whole quilt cut out in 4 hours! That s almost unheard of! Especially a log cabin quilt. I hope to start sewing this afternoon.

A new quilt started - May 2014
I love starting a new quilt! I love everything about it.
I love choosing or drafting the design:
I love choosing and prepping the fabric:
I love cutting the fabric, especially with my GO cutter and dies:
I got all the fabrics washed, dried and pressed and ready to cut. I tried the first one and am happy to say I can do a full WIF cut at once by cutting 24" on straight of grain and then tri-folding on the die.
Very fast, very easy. I should be able to cut all the pieces in one afternoon.
YEAH!

Welcome 2014!
I have a tradition of starting a new quilt on New Year's Day every year. This year I plan to make a strip quilt for myself in light spring greens and teal colors. I love string quilts and have made a few but given them all away. This one is for me and hopefully the start of a new year of lots piecing and quilting.
These are the fabrics I am using.
This should be fun!
