Stash Report May 30, 2010

First stash report of the year and it is almost June. Yikes!
Well I haven't posted a stash report in quite awhile because nothing in and nothing out but this week is differant! First of all I went quilt shop hopping on Wednesday with 3 of my good friends. I bought some black fabrics to add to my drunkard's path quilt right away so I will count that both in and out. I bought 6 yds for some new projects..... I couldn't resist these fabrics they were so cute! I also bought 3 more yds of reds and greens for my strip Christmas quilt so that is also to be counted in both in and out today.

Judy L is having a QOV challenge this week and since I have been wanting to make a QOV all year and hadn't gotten around to it I decided to jump in too. I didn't start right away but that is ok because I waited until day 5 and added all the strips up and used my new GO cutter and have been having a ball for the last day or so. Cutting and sewing, I spent all day yesterday working on this project. This is as far as I got at 10:30 this morning. It will have to wait until tonight to sew more on it because I have some other things needing my attention.

Fabric IN this week: 12 yds

Fabric used this week: 19 yds

Total IN this year: 12 yds

Stash Report Week 7-2009

I have picked out the fabrics I am using in Judy's new quilt. I won't be using all of this fabric but will cut off these pieces. I actually need at least one more blue/turquoise I think. I am going to keep looking around. Maybe there is a piece in my scraps (EEK, I hate to go in there) This is the gist of it though. I even had a cool stripe, cause I wanna be like JUDY! hehe. So my scrap repot I am saying 8 1/4 yds for the new quilt and 3/4 for a binding I did earlier this week. 8.5 yds. Not bad! Don't you love these colors!?

Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 0 yards

Fabric Used this Week: 8.5 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date: 25.75 yards

Total 25.75 yards busted

Stash Report 6 - 2009 and some Finished tops

Stash report and some finishes. Well, top finishes anyway. They still need quilting.

First off, this is just the center of this quilt I am calling it Confetti. It still needs a border. This week I hope to do that.

A close look at the blocks. It is a disappearing 9 patch pattern.
Next, I finished this top and have the backing and binding ready to go. I still need to quilt it. This one my sister gave me the Seahawks fabric and asked me to make a quilt for her husband. I added the green because it needed color and there is a tiny bit of this color in the eyes......

REALLY! Look close!

I finally finished this top. This is the 2007 mystery quilt that Linda Lawson designed and had going. She is the owner of Long Arm Chat. I really like the way this one came out. Backing and binding ready to go. There is a cream border that is hard to see as it melts into the carpet color.

SEE!
Now this is another quilt that I had the center done and still needed borders for a long time. I always get stopped at the borders but NO MORE! (Do you recognize this one Kay P.?)
This is the one I used stash fabric on this week. All in all, I am happy with how much I got done this week.

Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 0 yards

Fabric Used this Week: 3.25 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date: 17.25 yards

Total 17.25 yards busted

Total 14 yards busted

I have been piecing like crazy and will post about those soon, but all yardage has already been accounted for.

Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards

Fabric Used this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date: 14.0 yards

I also have been trying to BUST MY SCRAPS!

I have lots of scraps but hardly ever venture in that drawer because it looks something like this!

I just can't face going in that drawer and trying to pick out fabric so I don't. The pile of scraps keeps growing, as you may imagine. I decided to tackle them this year too. I picked out around 7 different quilts that I want to make that are scrappy in different color ways so when I cut the scraps, I can cut them for a PROJECT and put it in that drawer. I have worked on it for 3 days now and hardly made a dent....but I WILL!
Here are a few pictures of projects I picked;

And here is the nice neat bin with some scraps cut and placed in them. Notice they are even labeled!
I can't help it, I am a tad OCD and this scrap drawer thing was making me just a little crazy!

Uh, my yardage looks like this:
That is just what I could FIT in there. I also have 8 bins under my long arm that contain STUFF.
Some of that is backings and quilt tops I bought on ebay though....(don't ask!)

Stash report 1-2009

The fabric in this post is for the two new quilts in my January Goal list.
I bought some yardage to make the two new quilts but because I am using them immediately I don't count them in my stash. I did shop my stash first for both quilts so here is the yardage pulled this week: The Seahawks material was purchased by my sister. The white print I just bought but I pulled the green from my stash. 3.5 yds
The second quilt I had to buy the black print fabric but I pulled the rest from my stash. 5.5 yds

Fabric Added this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 0 yards

Fabric Used this Week: 9.0 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date: 9.0 yards
