Who let the gremlins in?

I don't know what happened but over night my quilt went from looking like this:

To THIS:

and THIS!

Did I mention this quilt is made of all flannels and hard as HECK to frog? Sorry Kay, I really do listen to you but this one is coming OFF the frame today to frog. I will quilt Heidi's quilt and put this one back on! Not my fault I tell ya.....

Completion!

I'm glad that's done. Now I can concentrate on just my quilting....Oh, and finding a job!

Last day of Catia V5 class!

Yep, today is the last class. It has been great too. I was dreading taking this class but it has been nothing but fun and an exciting program to learn. The teacher is the best. He is what really made this class the fun that it is. Imagine Will Smith as your teacher....but better looking..........I'm just sayin....

I am on day 4 of a custom quilt job with Roses and feathers and Cross hatching. It is slow due to all the ruler work. The feathers are the fastest part and they look the best! Isn't that the way! Here is a peek.

Well I better get back to it. I have another quilt I NEED to have quilted and bound for Sunday. Will I make it? Don't know, but I'm gonna try!

Mission accomplished...but a little late

Here it is!

I said 7pm but didn't quite make that. I am always underestimating how long things take. I don't have the space to lay it out and photograph properly. I will take good pictures after I quilt it. It turned out better than I thought it would. I just LOVE this quilt. I showed my daughter and she loved it too and said Heidi will be crazy about it. This went together SOOOO fast!Tomorrow I will be quilting most of the day (that is the plan anyway)

One Down!

I hit a snag or else I would have been done an hour ago. It still needs borders but that will have to wait for another day.
But here it is:
Now I have to go fix dinner and get to work on the other one. My goal is 7pm. That one won't get a border at all.

I've made a decision

I have decided to be much more productive. I have been wasting time and lazing around and generally accomplishing nothing. So, I decided to get busy. I didn't have to babysit today but I still got up at 5:30 and dressed and made my bed and did my morning stuff by 6. It is 8am and this is what I have done so far on the newest quilt.

Yep, all blocks are sewed together. I just need to lay it out and sew the rows together. That WILL happen today! But gees, I can't work in these conditions:
I am going to have to put this top together FIRST. I know I could just take it down and make room for the new one but that's just a waste of time so I will attempt to put two tops together today. As well as get my PPP in for my new client's quilt which I will load tomorrow and want to be ready. Ok, I'll post an update on my progress around 4pm. Later!

Some assembly required

Stash Busting this week is the same as last week. Nothing in and nothing out.

As of 7pm last night this is what I had done on the new quilt:
Strip sets completed!

And as of 10am this morning I have THIS much done:
Ready for assembly!
I cut it pretty close too. After cutting all the pieces there was enough to make a throw pillow and two pillow cases and I had exactly THIS MUCH FABRIC LEFT! Whew!
Hopefully I will make some headway on getting the blocks together today before I have to leave for class. I guess I should do some laundry and housework too......NAH!

Sky Blue or white?

I bought the sky blue toile to make this quilt along with the dots and brown. Then I had second thoughts. Maybe it would look too muddy ....hmm. Ok I'll try it with a white background instead:

Jess says she likes the blue better...I tend to agree. I will decide in a couple days. I have a yard sale to put on for the next three days but then plan to throw this top together asap.
Any opinions on which color you like best?

Dashed hopes and dreams...

Well, it's not THAT bad. I make a to do list everyday. On today's list was cutting out a new quilt and making a couple test blocks to see if I like it. Didn't quite get that done yet. Next on my list was to do my first BOM blocks for my two color ways. I have been making quilts for years and I can usually tell how much fabric I have in my hand (estimated). It sure looked like enough fabric. I looked at the yardages again and thought I'd better check to make sure. OMG! I am short on half of what I picked out. Back to the drawing board. Because I want to use the fabric out of my stash, I must choose the fabrics around the pieces I need the most of and have on hand.
SOOOOO, because of that, My plan has changed quite a bit. I finally finished picking out AND MEASURING the fabrics for one of the quilts. I will finish picking out the rest later tonight after I get home. Geesh, I've almost made myself late for class! Will I never learn!?
