Once again, I have turned my focus around. I can't seem to settle down and get anything accomplished but on the personal sewing front, I am trying to sew up some cloth diapers for my grand daughter and some to sell as well. I've been really good about getting all the supplies I need and researching and watching LOTS of videoes so I should be ready to roll....I'm working on it!
On another front, I have been involved with a small Sit and Stitch group for ten years and two women decided to up and quit so we are trying to figure out what our new meeting place and times will be. We are having a sewing day tomorrow and I pulled out a long forgotten quilt I started MANY years ago. It is a Double Wedding Ring with one solid piece for the arc units instead of 6 pieces in each. I hand pieced this and have ten full rings done and I always thought I had done such a nice job on it.
UNTIL I looked at it this week. Lots of puckers and open seams and the width of sewing allowance is all over the place. That leads to my command decision. I am taking it apart and going to machine piece it and quilt it on my long arm.
It isn't even colors I like. I started it as a surprise for my mom and these were the exact colors of her bedroom. She told me in no uncertain terms that she "HATES QUILTS" So finally I told her I would never make her one and lost interest in this quilt and just put it in a drawer and forgot about it.
My sweet mom died two years ago this coming March and I miss her so much. I am GOING to make this quilt for myself in my mom's memory. Stay tuned.
