I have an interview

Ok, I did a little sleuthing and finally got a name and number to call and JUST called him. 5pm on a Friday and he was still there and willing to talk to me (thank God!) I actually know a guy (a few of them really) who works there who told Mike (the guy I was talking to today and will interview with) who told him about working with me years ago. This was before he got my resume. I thought that was interesting. He said he didn't have a need last week when Matt gave him my resume but one has now opened up. He said one of the things he is really interested in is my robot programming background. GULP! I haven't done robot programming on the floor in a few years and I told him as much. I hope I sounded confident when I told him yes, I could do it but would need a refresher since I hadn't done it in a few years. I don't know if they will hire me after talking with me but I am hopeful. I am concerned because with me being overweight it gives a false impression that I am lazy and slow. That is not the case and Once I have a job I do well and prove myself. Prejudice is tough though. I am hoping he will look at my experience and go by what the people who know me tell him. I have an interview on Wed at 2pm. I have class at 5.
I need to buy an new outfit and shoes I think. I NEED this job!

ps, thanks Vicki....I needed the push!

YEAH!!!!!! Just go in with your energetic attitude, sell them on how quickly you learn and how excited you are to have an oportuity to work at that great company! New shoes will certainly help. :)

In the interview for the job that I told you about he kept asking me if I knew this or that programming language. I tol him no but that I didn't know the ones that I did know when I started my last job. I just convinced him that I can learn anything. You can do it too! You may worry about your weight - everyone worries about something. My issue is that I look 10 years younger than I am and people never believe that I have the experience that I have. I always have to let my age drop out just to give myself some credibility. Looking 10 years younger is great now but in my 20's all I heard about was my boss's daughters and they all treated my like I was 15. That's how I became bitchy.
