I was laid off for over a year and was on an unemployment extension when I finally found a job. In the last extension they required you to post or mail 3 places per week that you applied for work in order to qualify for your check. Sounds fair enough. I didn't post for one week early on and got a letter telling me to (it was at the beginning and I didn't know I needed to and it was a mistake) send it in. I wrote a detailed letter explaining why I didn't send it that time. WELLLLLL....
almost 4 months later I get a judgement in the mail telling me I am disqualified and therefore have to pay back over $4000. GULP.
I called yesterday and talked to a woman who told me I need to write a letter explaining why I shouldn't have to pay it back and fill out the paper for the missing week and it should all be covered. I hope that is the end of it.
For that I am Thankful!

Ai Chihuahua! I sure hope this works out okay. I must say I would soil my knickers if I were to receive such a letter. You write well, so, explain it to them and I'm praying it will all be okay!
